Many of the opportunties we provide would no be possible without the help from others. In response to this, we have developed this page to showcase other events happening in the Earlston Commuity by our friends and partners. This could be community events, new interest groups or calls for help or to action. Please contact the groups directly but if we can be of assistance we will be happy to help.
Earlston Primary School will be holding a World of Work Fortnight from the 15th – 26th of October 2018.
The activities include a market place event provisionally in the calendar for Monday 22nd Oct, 9 -11am and which will be set up like a trade fair so that P5-7 children pupils can visit stalls, finding out about the businesses and professionals there.
If anyone would like to be involved and take part in this event they would be most welcome.
We also hope that professionals and businesses will take part by coming into school and talking with the pupils about themselves and what they do.
Again, if anyone would be willing to join us in this, they would be most welcome.
The school are flexible on time and can fit round people, but sessions must happen within the fortnight and be during the school day (8.50am – 3.10pm).
A collated list of professions that our children would like to find out about is attached.
This list is not exhaustive and other professions are welcome.
We are also hoping to broaden horizons and challenge gender stereotypes.
If you would like more information or to take part, please contact Carmen Foggin, Depute Head Teacher, Earlston and Gordon Primary Schools on 01896 848851/01573 410245 or emailing CFoggin@scotborders.gov.uk
